Research has shown that the effects of learning how to play a musical instrument are lasting. This year students in the third grade class, at Connections Public Charter School in Hilo Hawaii, are learning how to build and play an ukulele. Their teachers are Connections’ high school students. The same group of high school students recently visited two schools in northern Wisconsin to teach some of their students how to build and play an ukulele.
