We all know about the inequality often present in even the best of schools, but we rarely talk about solutions. The focus on this workshop will be to brainstorm and design practices and policies aimed to disrupt patterns of marginalization in schools. This equity jam is an interactive workshop based on the Game Jam design process. In a series of short exercises, participants will work in small teams to design and iterate new practices and policies for use in schools. Discussions are structured to be additive and to bring out collaborative, pragmatic ideas aimed at solutions. In the process, participants will discuss and learn about how policies promote or undermine equity and develop a tool kit for addressing issues in their own schools and communities. https://goo.gl/T1vUea
