DC Everest School District
English Educator
D.C. Everest School District in Weston, Wisconsin has been my professional home for the last 24 years. I currently am a 21st Century Classroom educator at D. C. Everest Middle School. I believe in empowering curious, creative learners to discover and connect in an innovative learning environment through differentiation and personalized learning while children focus on goal setting and reflecting on learning. I have taught first, third, fourth, fifth and sixth grade throughout my career, spending the most time in first and fifth grade. I am a certified Love and Logic trainer in both the parenting and educator courses. I am committed to sharing my passion for relationship building and social-emotional learning through staff development, workshops, conferences and Love and Logic courses I teach to educators in district and out of district. I received the Herb Kohl Fellowship award in 2016 and was honored to be named the Wisconsin 2017 Elementary Teacher of the Year. EVERYONE is a teacher of the year, but those who receive this honor have a very important job. That challenge is to be a voice for education, and represent all the amazing educators who work endlessly day after day along with our children who deserve the best we have to give them.
