DC Everest School District
multi-age educator/ teacher-led
D.C. Everest School District in Weston, Wisconsin has been my professional home for the last 23 years. I currently am a 21st Century Classroom educator at Odyssey Elementary school. Odyssey is a teacher-led school where relationships are the foundation of our school and we empower curious, creative learners to discover and connect in and innovative learning environment through differentiation, personalized learning, goal setting/reflecting and project-based learning. I teach fourth and fifth grade standards and above as needed, along with assume administrative duties and everything else in-between. This challenge has ignited a fire within me that burns brighter every day. I am a certified Love and Logic trainer in both the parenting and educator courses. I am committed to sharing my passion for relationship building and social-emotional learning through staff development, workshops, conferences and Love and Logic courses I teach to educators in district and out of district. I received the Herb Kohl Fellowship award in 2016 and was honored to be named the Wisconsin 2017 Elementary Teacher of the Year. EVERYONE is a teacher of the year because no one is better than anyone else, but those who receive this honor have a job after receiving this award. That job is to be a voice for education, all the amazing teachers who work so hard every day and our children who deserve the best we have to give them.
